Week three of the college football season is here. Here is what to know about the local central Alabama teams:AlabamaThe Alabama Crimson Tide head to the Sunshine State with USF next on the schedule. Multiple sources are reporting that Tyler Buchner will be the starter for the Crimson Tide. Buchner is a Notre Dame transfer who followed Tommy Rees to Alabama.Auburn vs SamfordThe Samford Bulldogs take the trip down 280 to take on the Auburn Tigers. Chris Hatcher has put up big numbers before against SEC teams, like in 2021 when they scored 52 points against Florida in a 70-52 loss. Auburn is coming off a tight win out west to Cal 14-10. The Tigers, with a win, would be 3-0 with Texas A&M on the road next week.UABThe UAB Blazers are back at home this week against Louisiana after they lost on the road to Georgia Southern. Trent Dilfer and his team need to get another win this weekend, with No. 1 Georgia on the road next week. MilesMiles College is coming off a program-defining win against Alabama State this past weekend. Miles is now 2-0 with Arkansas Pine-Bluff on the road. In year two, head coach Sam Shade and the team have already surpassed their total number of wins from last season (1-9).
