A fun trip to Nashville turned into a work trip for a group of friends.

The trio arrived at their hotel and found that no one was working there.

With the phones ringing off the hook, they decided to take over and run the hotel themselves.

Kenzie and her friends Aaron and Noorain stepped in when they couldn't find anyone working overnight at a La Quinta Inn near the airport.

"Oh God, not the phone again,” one of them is heard saying in a video posted to social media.

They tried to help people with their problems.

"We don't actually charge you,” another says.

And even served breakfast to other guests in the morning.

"You've got to do what you've got to do in these struggling times,” Kenzie exclaimed in a separate video.

The friends from Atlanta told the hotel they were checking in late after a concert for Aaron's birthday.

But when they got there, it was a ghost town.

“We took a second. We all just looked at each other. And we were like what the (expletive),” Noorain Dobani said.

So, what made them want to get behind the counter and help out?

"When you walk into something and see it not going well, you have to fix it. It's just in our blood,” Aaron Howard said.

But it wasn't all smooth sailing for the group of bar and restaurant managers.

They struggled to keep the buffet stocked and fix people's room bills.

"(A guest) was just like, ‘How can you help me, how can you help me?’ And I said to them, ‘I can't. I don't work here,’” Noorain said.

The group of friends was relieved when a manager from another hotel showed up and was able to finally get them checked into their room.

But they ultimately decided it was best to find another place to stay.

A spokesperson for the hotel says their overnight shift employee left early without telling anyone. They've been fired. Now, management is working to make the situation right for impacted guests.
