A fresh north breeze keeps the heat down; expect temperatures around 80 degrees at kickoff.SAMFORD vs. CHATTANOOGA (2 p.m. at Seibert Stadium): It gets warm on Saturday afternoon in Homewood. Expect a high in the mid-80s around kickoff with a northeast breeze. Temperatures drop back toward the upper 70s by the end of the game.INTO NEXT WEEKSome scattered showers develop Sunday, but our best chance of rain comes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, thanks to a weak upper disturbance passing over the region. It will not have a lot of moisture to work with, so we do not expect heavy, widespread rainfall or intense thunderstorms. This would just be some scattered, occasional showers, generally leaving behind less than a half-inch of total rainfall. A few big 'winners' could get up to one inch of rain in northwestern Alabama.The unsettled, showery weather should keep temperatures in check: highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s with lows in the 60s for most of next week.TROPICAL OUTLOOKHurricane Nigel spins northward across the Atlantic now, but there are two "areas of interest" where tropical storm formation is possible over the next few days. One of those is in the far eastern Atlantic from a tropical wave off the African coast.
