Mississippi man arrested on 47 felony charges during Pickens County traffic stop

A Mississippi man is facing 47 felony charges following a traffic stop in Pickens County.On Sunday, around 8:30 p.m., a deputy with the Pickens County Sheriff's office attempted to pull over a vehicle for speeding on Highway 82, according to the District Attorney's office.During the traffic stop, the deputy noticed the driver, 26-year-old Tony Kidd, throwing marijuana from the window, which landed on the deputy’s patrol vehicle.WVTM 13 On The Go: Download our app for freeAfter Kidd stopped the vehicle, a search was conducted, during which the responding deputy discovered more marijuana and paraphernalia. Further searching turned up several boxes containing what appeared to be checks from at least 10 different businesses, individuals, financial institutions, government entities and healthcare providers in the west Alabama-east Mississippi area. He remains in the Pickens County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
