A duo in Plattsburgh, New York, may have you beat.A rap duo from the Plattsburgh area, Antwon Levee and Dust, created a music video celebrating a favorite brand in their area: New York-area chain Stewart's Shops chocolate milk."Customers are having fun with it, our partners are having fun with it," said Elizabeth Marlow, a district manager of Plattsburgh Stewart's Shops. "We have definitely seen an increase in our chocolate milk sales."This unexpected boost in sales can be attributed to the musical tribute.Antwon Levee expressed his appreciation for Stewart's, saying, "We talk about Stewart's because we believe in what they do. We go there."Antwon Levee and Dust decided to channel their love for Stewart's, particularly its chocolate milk, into a musical creation that quickly gained widespread attention. "I wrote a song one night with my friend just over a YouTube beat, just on the whim about Chocolate Milk and then we kind of revisited it, and he made an original beat for it. And we were like, let's just do a video for it," Dust said.This dynamic rap duo has been collaborating on songs since 2015 as part of a music group called The Joint Commission. While Dust has lived in Plattsburgh his entire life, Levee moved to the area from Syracuse in 2010.Thanks to a personal connection, the pair was able to shoot the video at the Stewart's on South Catherine Street, although the popular convenience store chain hasn't formally endorsed the video.Dust explained, "My aunts actually worked for Stewart's for like 30 years, since she was in college. She's like a district manager or something. I was like, 'Hey, do you think it would be cool if we did this?' and she was like, 'Let me make sure,' and it was all good."Since the video was posted online, it has been rapidly accumulating views, even catching the attention of North Country Assemblyman Billy Jones. Assemblyman Jones remarked, "I have to meet these guys. I mean, what a feel-good story. What a way to promote local business and our local dairy here."Levee and Dust are already planning to continue their newfound momentum. Levee stated, "We got three or four albums in that collective that are being worked on right now, so we put out music all the time."While it remains uncertain whether other Plattsburgh-area landmarks will find their way into the duo's future songs, one thing is clear: Their love song to Stewart's Chocolate Milk has struck the right chord with fans in the community.
